1. Power‑off the press for safety, clean ink & paper dust from numbering‑machine unit.
2. Loosen the set screw, remove old left / right dialer. Clean shaft seat from dirt.
3. Do NOT mix‑up left‑right parts. Fit L / R dialer onto corresponding shaft position.
4. Tighten set screw properly; avoid over‑tightening to prevent thread damage.
5. Manually turn press to check engagement between dialer and ratchet gear. Ensure no jamming or slipping.
6. Dry‑run test several cycles to verify correct number‑jumping function before formal printing.

Trouble: Failed number jump usually caused by reversed L/R installation, loose set screw or worn ratchet gear.
